Two-man punk-noise outfit

Two-man punk-noise outfit Drybnz hails from across Seattle, Washington to Portland, Oregon. Their visceral, jagged sound does a fire dance around holler-screams, melody chants, and rhythmic pandemonium.

Comprised of Jeff Bettger (also known by his performance surname of Suffering) and Joe Mendonca, the duo have spent the past years transmitting collaborative experiments back-and-forth. Bettger, stationed out of the Seattle area, takes tracks by way of Mendonca’s Portland studio and layers over vocals and bass.

Mendonca explores noise territories, placing mangled samples over explosive beats. The sounds are created by all manner of racket, from splicing his own voice, found objects, environmental manipulations, and effects-laden instrumentations.

Since the 1990s, Bettger has fronted musical groups such as Ninety Pound Wuss, Raft of Dead Monkeys, and Suffering and the Hideous Thieves. Mendonca has worked with a number of projects, and currently creates music through his other projects Rattlehawk and Ghosts For Tattoos.

Drybnz are near completion of their debut full-length album, to subsequently be made available through Wolf Haircut.
